==Technique==

Much of Malik's work stems from her training in shibori dyeing techniques. In addition to dyeing textiles, Malik molds textiles onto natural and man-made forms to create sculptures.<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://networksrhodeisland.org/saberah-malik/|title=Saberah Malik|date=2014-10-25|website=NetWorks Rhode Island|language=en-US|access-date=2019-09-17}}</ref> She also creates what she calls "written paintings," two dimensional painted sculptures inspired by Islamic calligraphy. <ref>{{cite-news|last=VAN SICLEN|title=ART SCENE - By dyeing, she ties local scenes into Asian roots|newspaper=Providence Journal|date=6 April 2006|page=L-18|url=http://infoweb.newsbank.com/apps/news/document-view?p=WORLDNEWS&docref=news/152428232B5454B8|access-date=21 October 2019|first=Bill}}</ref> Her calligraphy appears in Daniyal Mueenuddin's short story collection In Other Rooms, Other Wonders.<ref>{{Cite book|url=https://www.worldcat.org/oclc/227016346|title=In other rooms, other wonders|last=Mueenuddin, Daniyal.|date=2009|publisher=W.
